Art Workshops at Windflower Farm
Gigi’s foray into farming is deeply inspired by her background in the Fine Arts. Composition, Color, Space, Line and Form are all interrelated elements of farm design, landscape painting, flower arranging, and floral still life drawing. In 2025, Gigi is eager to share her love of farming and art by offering drawing workshops at the farm for small groups of 4-5 people. If you have visitors from town or are yearning for a meditative break from the stresses of modern life – treat yourself to a unique, immersive experience on the farm.

While living in NYC, she was employed as an artist’s model and assistant to renowned Abstract Expressionist painters, Milton Resnick and Pat Passlof. A summer stint at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C.. as well as artist residencies at the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology in Otis, OR and The Helene Wurlitzer Foundation in Toas, New Mexico allowed her to further develop her vision and practice.
Gigi’s drawings, collages, and oil paintings have been exhibited at the Charles Cowles Gallery, NY,NY, The Painting Center, NY,NY, the NYSS Gallery, NY, NY The Pullium Nugent Gallery, Portland, OR, The Harwood Museum, Taos, NM, The Newport Visual Arts Center, Newport, OR, and the Muscarelle Museum of Art in Williamsburg, VA.
As an art instructor, she developed educational curriculums combining art history with studio practice which she taught in schools in Santa Ynez Valley, CA under the auspices of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art and at The Central Oregon Community College (COCC) in Bend, OR.
Current Workshops
Gigi’s approach to teaching and to art practice is non-judgmental and process-oriented, focused on enhancing and deepening perception of the visual world. As Matisse noted “Creativity takes Courage” and students willing to abandon pre-conceived ideas about “art” will be rewarded with heightened observational skills through a journey of discovery.
Participants can choose between plein-air sessions in the flower gardens, greenhouses, or adjacent forest, or indoor floral still-life sessions conducted in the farm’s air-conditioned flower studio. Sessions are approximately 4 hours long. Easels, drawing boards, paper, pencils, and charcoal will be available for use. A short, group critique with light refreshments concludes the workshop.
